Billabong Kita is a small, parents' initiative kita in Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg with a focus on bilingual (German/English) early education. 

Parents and staff work together to provide a safe and stimulating home away from home for up to twenty children ranging in ages from 18 months to 6 years. We have four qualified early education teachers, plus three additional support staff. The kita also thrives on the creative and organizational input from all its parents. The international make-up of the Billabong families and staff include links to the USA, Great Britain, New Zealand, South Africa, Israel, Austria, Portugal and, of course, Germany. The large majority of the families are bilingual at home.   

Our educational concept draws from the "Situationsansatz"  approach, meaning responding to the children's needs as they change individually or as a group, and takes into consideration the different social and cultural educational traditions that each family brings to the community.
